Renewal timeline
Registration year for the College is from June 1 to May 31.
The renewal timeline is as follows:
- April 15 - the renewal period starts
- May 15 - completed information required for renewal and renewal fees are due
- May 16-31 - renewal is still available, late fee applies
- June 1 - renewal no longer available, reinstatement process applies
Renewal process
To start the renewal process, log into the HMS, and make sure to:
- Complete your continuing competency/currency hours information
- Pass the jurisprudence exam (first renewal only)
- Update the Certificate of Insurance if needed
- Update the Criminal Record Screening if needed
- Sign the Legal statements in your member profile
- Pay the renewal fee (Fee Schedule)
At renewal, you must show you have a minimum of 500 hours of practice over a three-year period. If you were a new graduate at time of the first registration, your course will count as currency for the first three years of registration.
Reinstatement of General Registration
Annual renewal must be completed by May 31 in any registration year. After that date, an application for reinstatement is required to register and reinstatement is only available three years following the date of the lapse in registration. An application for reinstatement fee is required in addition to the registration fee.
To be considered for reinstatement by the CMTPEI Registrar, you must log into the HMS, and:
- Update your continuing competency/currency hours requirements
- Update the Certificate of Insurance if needed
- Update the Criminal Record Screening if needed
- Sign the Legal statements in your member profile
- Pay the reinstatement fee
- Pay the registration fee
